The Wheaton College Conservatory of Music and the Wheaton College Artist Series extend a warm welcome to the Apollo Chorus, Northern Illinois Concert Choir, Valparaiso University Chorale as you join with our choirs, the Wheaton College Concert Choir, Women's Chorale and Men's Glee Club! In anticipation of the April 18 & 19, 2008 performance with Maestro John Nelson, conductor, we are providing this online resource to ensure uniform marking of all scores.

Clicking on a movement title in the left-hand column will open a PDF file with Adobe Acrobat Reader. Each file is a photograph of one movement from a marked piano/vocal score; these marks have been copied directly from the conductor's full score. As you open each file, please allow a few moments because these files are quite large.

At a minimum, copy in all markings for your voice part plus those markings which may be above the soprano part which may apply to you. Better yet, copy in all markings--of all parts--so that you get the full picture, so that you see why you have been asked to phrase at a particular spot in a specific way. Please write in the word-for-word translation as provided. Color is recommended so that the markings jump off the page. This marked score is intended solely for the purpose of transfering markings and may not be used at rehearsals or performances; all participating choruses have purchased published scores.

Notes from Maestro Nelson will be posted as deemed appropriate but specifically after each rehearsal in the final weeks of preparation. We ask that you check the notes prior to the next rehearsal so time is used efficiently. Thank you for all your work and dedication to make the performance of the Berlioz Requiem a memorable event.
